A farmer-owned dairy cooperative serving Baringo since 1953.
Sabatia FCS Ltd was registered in 1953 by smallholders working the cool ridges above Eldama Ravine. Today we are over two thousand member households, a chilling plant, a small processing line and a fleet of youth riders moving milk every morning and evening.

Our mission
To improve the livelihoods of our members by aggregating, chilling and marketing their milk fairly, and by giving them affordable access to inputs, training and credit along the dairy value chain.
Our vision
A modern, profitable cooperative whose members earn a sustainable income from clean, high-quality milk produced on family farms.
Our values
- · Honesty in weighing, testing and paying
- · Quality first — we are paid on what we deliver
- · Member ownership — one farmer, one vote
- · Care for the land, the herd and the next generation
Seventy years on the plateau.
Sabatia Farmers Cooperative Society Ltd is registered in Eldama Ravine, then part of Baringo District.
Mzee Jomo Kenyatta visits the society; Sabatia becomes one of the recognised dairy cooperatives feeding the old Kenya Cooperative Creameries.
The collapse of KCC pushes the society into a long, difficult rebuilding period.
Steady recovery on the back of New KCC and Brookside contracts; first bulk chilling tank installed.
Partnership with BioFoods Products introduces quality-based pricing. Members begin earning per kilogram of butterfat and total solids.
Over 11,000 litres aggregated daily; ~1,500 litres processed in-house into Sabatia Mursik and yoghurt.
Meet the people running the cooperative.
Our staff and elected leadership work side by side to keep the milk moving and the books straight.
